Shady business went on at the Cochise County Fairgrounds on April 14, 2010. The Hereford and Whitewater Draw NRCDs and the Douglas Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) showed that shady is good when it involves planting trees for visitors to enjoy at the annual fair.

Fourteen Afghan Pine trees (from Elfrida Winfill Nurseries) were planted on the western side of the live stock building and four Arizona Ash trees (from Tucson Desert Trees) were planted on the northern side of the livestock viewing arena.

The trees will eventually help provide much-needed shade for people and animals, provide wind protection, and enhance the fairgrounds.
